The clay is brown with flecks of yellow. Qingduan is found to contain both lüni and zini when mined as original ore. The clay is classified under the umbrella of duanni and is a porous clay that is good for heat retention. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis pot is known as \"half-handmade\" as the sculptor uses a molding tool to shape the body, and uses his hands for the handle, spout, holes, and smoothing out the body. This is called \"opening the pot\". It removes the dust from firing the teapot.\u003cbr\u003eWe recommend rinsing the teapot under warm water two or three times, then filling the teapot with boiling water and emptying it out two to three times.
