These cups were made following Ming era techniques and recipes for the porcelain body, pigment and glaze. The style itself is also from the Ming period. This kind of porcelain is known as "fanggu" porcelain because it aims to revive and reproduce an ancient style of porcelain. Fanggu technique is more costly and difficult to execute properly than modern styles of porcelain. Since each cup is handmade and hand painted there is a slight variation in the painting, although each one follows the same pattern.
