Tianbai 甜白 translated as Sweet White, is a rich white porcelain glaze created during the Ming Dynasty YongLe Period (AD1403 – 1424).
This gaiwan is handmade of fine white porcelain with tianbai glaze by our studio partnerin Jingdezhen China. The porcelain is fine with good translucence and the jade-like quality that is typical of Tianbai Jingdezhen Porcelain.

High quality porcelain

High quality porcelain, thin to medium-thin thickness, with beautiful lines—I love the tulip shape. Its slightly thicker walls will retain more heat (for a relatively thin porcelain gaiwan, anyway), so it will work well with Oolongs and darker teas. A beautiful piece that I am quite happy to add to my teaware rotation.

Its awesome.

Came in a very nice box and well packed for mail travel. 200ml if you fill to the tip top which you normally wouldn't do while using a gaiwan. Perfect tulip shape, great feel in the hands (average sized Male hands) and a very nice softness to the porcelain. Overall I would give this a 9 out of 10. Its awesome.
