2016 Sanquan SHOUMEI White Tea
2016 三泉白茶寿眉
Origin: Fuding, Fujian.
Grade: Shoumei.
Season: 2016.
Pressed: 2019.
Storage: Dry storage in Fuding, Fujian.
This white tea is shoumei grade, made from upper leaves harvested and processed in 2016, and then aged for 3 years before being pressed into cakes in 2019. The cakes were then kept in dry storage for the past 6 + years. It has a heavier and darker profile and color than Baimudan and Gongmei grades of white tea.
It has a mellow and earthy flavour and aroma with hints of herb and menthol. The tea is smooth and comforting with some sweetness. Shoumei is a very forgiving tea that can be brewed many ways and still be very pleasant; it can brewed gongfu style, western style or boiled.
