Bohetang is found in Mansa Tea Mountain, one of the Old Six Tea Mountains found in Yunnan, which is also home to the Yao ethnic minority.
The environment here is very picturesque, with mountains, streams, ravines and clear ponds with Chinese peppermint growing on the banks. These ponds give Bohetang its name, which translates to "Peppermint Pond."
The tea trees in this area are old, from 100-200+ years old. Trees are fed from clear mountain springs.
The brewed tea is a rich golden yellow. The tea is mellow, refreshing and smooth. The tea body is thick. The tea has mild bitterness that is well-balanced, and has a hint of cooling menthol (mint). The huigan (aftertaste or returning sweet) is strong, long-lasting and satisfying.
Keyixing Tea Factory 可以興 was founded in 1926, and was the first factory to introduce the compressed tea brick shape for storage.
