170ml Moon White Ruyao Gaiwan, 月白汝窑盖碗

Love the glaze. But I wouldn’t say the glaze is the colour white... it’s more of a pale dusty blue? I was very surprised when seeing the item in person for the first time so much that I thought they sent the wrong product because all the product pictures appeared so white on my screen. After comparing to an additional picture shot under natural light Patrick sent to me for comparison purpose with another cup I realize this is the right gaiwan lol. Nevertheless love the glaze. Personally I think it is the colour of the sky when the sky is not very blue if that makes any sense The curvy edge of the gaiwan makes it very easy to handle when full of hot water. My hands are on the e smaller size I was worried that it might be too big and too heavy for me to handle however that was not the case at all. I also requested to purchase a saucer/hucheng of the same glaze to match the gaiwan and Patrick provided excellente customer service.

Beautiful Gaiwan. I expected it to be more delicate. I was really glad that it was more solid. It has good heft. The gaiwan has begun the crazing process and it is lovely to watch. My only criticism is that because of the large knob at the top, the lid of the gaiwan tends to be a bit top heavy and if not placed perfectly will invert with the knob inside the pot.
