This raw / sheng pu'er tea was picked in the autumn of 2013 in the Ban Zhang 班章 area, in the "Ban Zhang Organic Tea Garden Base", at an altitude of 1700-1900m, only 1km away from Lao Ban Zhang 老班章. The trees in this garden are all descended from the famous Lao Ban Zhang Tea Trees. The tea was stone pressed by hand in Xinghai Tea Factory in Menghai. This tea cake is starting to show some age after 8 + years in Guangdong storage. Tea has a nice thick body and a balance of bitterness/astringency and sweet aftertaste. Despite aging for 6 years, the tea still has some punchiness. This tea has a strong character, mouthfeel and body, and would be a good candidate for aging.
This tea is Certified Organic by OFDC China (Organic Food Development and Certification Center of China). It has also been certified organic by CHINA ORGANIC (the smaller green and orange label to the right. Trees planted in the Ban Zhang Organic Tea Garden Base are certified organic year-round with no chemicals added.
