205ml Qinghua Hand Painted Lanscape Jingdezhen Porcelain Teapot, 甜白釉重工山水壶

It was the charming aesthetics that induced me to buy a similar pot a few years ago. Same design, also Jingdezhen. But I find this one to be more of a pleasure to use. The earlier one had a smaller mouth. The wide mouth on this one makes for an easy fill for any type of tea, easy removal of expanded wet leaves, and easy cleaning and wiping after use.
My first one had a fairly small hole in the lid, on the side of the knob (or button). It didn't pour that well. The good-sized hole on the top of the button, along with the well-crafted spout on this new pot make for a smooth 14 second pour. The large ball filter also helps with this. The first pot had a smaller flat filter.
This pot is a nice porcelain option for people who find the gaiwan a bit awkward. I have some white teas that are very happy in this pot. Some high quality gaoshan that have nothing to hide really shine here. Old, smooth Liu Bao and shou pu er do well, as does quality Bao Zhong. There are many teas I haven't tried in it yet.
I enjoy taking advantage of the relatively large size by making longer steeps with more water and less leaf, which can bring out bring out nice qualities in some of my favorite teas. For gong fu I just fill it part way.
And I still like the charming aesthetics.
