Tianbai translated as Sweet White/Sugar White, it’s a rich white color created during Ming Dynasty YongLe Period (AD1403 – 1424). This kind of white reminds people of the white color that the processed sugar shows, therefore, it’s called Tianbai (sweet white)
This is handmade by one of our studios, called QingKe Xuan 清可轩 in Jingdezhen. The studio signature is on the bottom of the pitcher. This studio strictly follows the traditional Jingdezhen techniques,with the exception of using an electric kiln for firing.
